Loretta Reigns Supreme
Well, I decided to take a look back at my blog. No posts since 2012. Reason being... Loretta! She kept her head down, remained cool as a cucumber, and just lurked, simply waited for me to let down my guard. And, I'll be damned if she didn't attack. Sneaky and sly Loretta has not only gained back her ground but she has exceeded her presence. As usual.... she continues to be the almighty bitch. Loretta is like an unprotected, street walking whore. She cares not who she infects. She cares not who she destroys. There must be something that can be done about her. This is no longer a love/hate relationship with Loretta.... only the hatred remains.
Loretta befriended my co-workers at my new place of employment. She made everyone think she is the life of the party, the culinary expert, the connoisseur of all things delicious.
So, here it is January 4, 2015 and I'm back at square one. I've let Loretta totally run the relationship and she shines bright. A lot has happened since my last blog post, the most notable being the loss of my dad. His passing in May 2014 absolutely knocked me on my ass. I sure didn't expect to lose him so suddenly. I miss him everyday and still have a hard time believing he is gone. He struggled with the 'food demons' and I am certainly my father's daughter. The type 2 diabetes was probably the biggest contribution to his deteriorating health. He wanted to ignore it and act as if it wasn't as serious as it really was. I will be in the very same shape as he was if I don't do something to correct the problem. The problem is Loretta. Loretta equals illness. She must go!
I know all the things to do to deal with Loretta. Blogging is actually very good therapy. There is a lot of accountability when one blogs. Everyone knows there is really only one way to accomplish the goal of improving health through weight loss.... portion control and exercise. Those are two things Loretta does not want to address. Loretta is more of a "bring on some more of that" and "uh, exercise, I don't think so" kinda gal.
Well, Loretta has been trying to ignore the newest piece of artillery I've acquired. It's a Fitbit. Everyone knows what a Fitbit is by now so I won't go into explaining it. Again, accountability is so important and for me that is what the Fitbit is going to contribute to the fight against Loretta and her army of fat cells.
